இன்று ஒரு சமையல்
Bachelors-ஆ வாழும் பெரும்பாலான இளைஞர்களுக்கு தெரிந்த ஒன்றே சாம்பார். இன்று சாம்பார் செய்வது எப்படி என்று பார்போம்.
ஒரு சின்ன டம்ளர் நெறைய பருப்பு (Toor Daal), அப்புறம் carrot மற்றும் beans சேர்த்து சிறிதளவு மஞ்சள் மற்றும் உப்பு சேர்த்து குக்கர்ல ரெண்டு விசில் வரைக்கும் வைக்கவும்.
வானெலியில் எண்ணெய் கடுகு போட்டு வெட்டி வைத்த வெங்காயம் தக்காளி மிளகாய் போடு நன்றாக தாளிக்கவும். அதன் பிறகு குக்கர்ல வேக வச்ச பருப்பு இதிலே சேர்க்கவும். பின்னே சாம்பார் பவுடர் மிளகாய் தூள் கொஞ்சம் சேர்த்து தேவைக்கேற்ப தண்ணீர் ஊற்றி கொதிக்க வைக்கவும். மல்லி இலை இருந்தால் சேர்த்து வைத்தால் மணம் தூக்கும்.

இன்று ஒரு தகவல்
தென்கட்சி கோ சுவாமிநாதன் தான் நம்ம ஞாபகத்துக்கு வருவார்....... இந்த தலைப்பை பார்த்தவுடன் ... சரிதான்... தினமும் காலையில நம்ம All India Radio-ல 7.40 க்கு இவர் தான் வந்து எதாவது கதை சொல்லுவாரு... அப்புறம் அதுக்கு விளக்கம் கொடுத்து கருத்தும் கொடுப்பார்.......
இதோ ஒரு சிறு கதை
ரெண்டு முனிவர்கள் தங்களது குருவை காண சென்று கொண்டிருந்த வேலையில் ... ஆற்றின் கரையினிலே ஒரு அழகிய பெண், ஆற்றை கடக்க முடியாமல் உட்கார்ந்து இருந்தாள். அவள் அவர்களிடம் ஆற்றை கடக்க உதவுமாறு கேட்டாள்... அதற்கு ஒரு முனிவர் பெண்ணை சுமப்பது பாவம் ஆகும்...என்றார்... மற்றொரு முனிவர்...அந்த பெண்ணை சுமர்ந்து சென்று ஆற்றை கடர்ந்து அந்த பெண்ணை விட்டு சென்றார்.....
செல்லும் வழியில் பாவம் என்ற முனிவர், இந்த முனிவரிடம் நம்ம குரு எந்த பெண்ணையும் சுமக்க கூடாதுன்னு சொல்லிருகாறு...நீர் ஏன் இப்படி செய்தீர் என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு இந்த முனிவர் "நான் எப்பொழுதே அதை மறந்து விட்டேன்... நீர் தான் இன்னும் அந்த பெண்ணை மனதில் நினைத்து கொண்டு இருக்கீர்" என்று சொன்னார் .
இதிலிருந்து கருத்து என்ன வென்றால்,

Why do we need a CAR/Driver License?
In USA, one cant live without a vehicle as it is the basic necessity for each home. Also the local buses doesnt cover all the roads in a particular city. Anyways, near my home the bus facility is there but inorder to get to the office daily, I need to catch a bus and then a train. Incase we need to go to some other place, we might need to go for multiple hop-over the public transit. It would be better if you have a CAR and ofcourse, the driver license for driving.
How to get the driver license?
I couldnt find a website with proper details for getting the driving license. After exploring it is found that first we need to get a IP (Instruction permit) like Learner's license in most of the countries. Once we get the IP, we can join in some driving school and obtain a license after learning.
How to get an IP first?
We have to go through the written exam, vision test in the Dallas Public Safety office. The materials for the written exam is provided at http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/
Note : This is only for the Texas state.
Go through the DL Handbook and it would hardly take 2 days for an average reader.
Process for acquiring IP:

1. We can give the exams only at 2 offices in Dallas. (Details in the above link)

Now you have the rights to drive (learning) with a licensed driver (21 yr or older) on the other end.

Mistakes in Dasavatharam
I have watched the Dasavatharam and want to correlate with the 10 avatars of Lord Krishna. But got to find some mistakes in the movie.
1. Initially on 20th Dec 2004, on the CARGO office in US, the worker tells Kamal when he tries to complaint "Dont spoil my weekend"...but that is actually a sunday as per calendar.
2. Second during the airport investigation, once the Police inspector comes in, the Fletcher follows in the room. After Fletcher kills 2 security guards, this police inspector puts the Gun on the Fletcher's head. Then Mallika shrewat keeps her finger and tries to cheat the Inspector as if it is a gun. But that time, Kamal (Govind) that time...keeps quiet...dont know why :)

Tajmahal Imports - The Graveyard of Dallas
In Dallas, we have lots of Indian stores. One famous Indian store is this one, with the name of the 'TajMahal" the symbol of peace. This is located on the Beltline Road near the North Central Expressway. Normally we buy the groceries at the Patel Brothers store which is just near the road.
Today we have to Tajmahal imports as the 'Sakthi masala' packets we can get only from there. Its not available in Patel Stores. We had seen masala packets..on top of which it is written 'Buy 1 Get 1". Hence we took 4 packets. Also Rice, Dosa mix, etc and then for Kisan Fruit Jam, again we can get it only here. We found only Strawberry flavour being there and not the famous mixed fruit jam.
We moved for the billing and then I have asked the shop owner, whether the Kisan Mixed Fruit Jam is not availbl. The answer I got was "Nobody in entire USA has Kisan Mixed Fruit Jam". Then while billing another quarrel... 'Buy 1 get 1" option is only for packets having that label. Only few packets got that label over there in the same variety of packet. No idea whats this funda. So got it in anyways.
Once we started for home, we were discussing why there is label on only some packets. They might be old stock which might get expired in a month or two. But we are wrong. All the packets which we got, the expiration date was last year.
The Kisan Jam bottle again expired in 2007 itself. I think in this shop, whatever they get is from 'Entire USA Indian stores remainings (expired throw-away products).
People in Dallas please check for the expiration date on the products in this store. My personal opinion is to avoid this store for any groceries. Its not only for 2-3 products. Most of the items in this store are having expired dates.
Lots of people faced this..but we didnt know. Tomorrow we are gonna exchange for money. Dont know what else we can do for this.

குருவி - தவறவிடக்கூடாத திரைப்படம் - சில காரணங்கள்
குருவியைப் பற்றி வலையுலகம் முழுதும் நெகட்டிவ் விமர்சனங்கள். பார்த்தவர்கள் அனைவரும் டரியலாகிப் போயிருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் குருவி அப்படி ஒன்றும் பார்க்கவே கூடாத ஒதுக்க வேண்டிய திரைப்படம் அல்ல. இத்திரைப்படத்தைக் கேவலம் என்று சொல்லி கேவலத்தையே கேவலப்படுத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் குருவி அனைவராலும் கண்டிப்பாக பார்க்க வேண்டிய படம்.
- படத்தின் நகைச்சுவை காட்சிகள். சின்னக் கலைவாணர் விவேக் மாங்கு மாங்குன்னு டபுள் மீனிங் டயலாக்கா பேசிட்டிருந்தாலும் சிரிப்பே வரல. ஆனா நம்ம இளைய தளபதி அசால்டா காமெடி பண்றாரு. தோளைக் குலுக்கி கண்ணடிச்சா காமெடி. திரிசாவை முறைச்சா காமெடி. அதைவிட சண்டை போடும்போது சட்டையைக் கழட்டிப் போட்டு கையை முறுக்கி காட்டுவாரு பாருங்க..அந்த ஒரு காமெடி சீனுக்காகவே படம் பாக்கலாம்
- எதிர்பாராத திருப்பங்கள். விஜய் நாலாவது மாடியில இருப்பாரு. வில்லனோட அடியாளுங்க துரத்திட்டு வருவாங்க. பக்கத்து மேம்பாலத்து டிராக்ல தூரத்துல டிரெயினைக் காட்டுவாங்க. இளைய தளபதியோட முகத்தைக் காட்டுவாங்க. டிரெயினு..முகம்..முகம்..டிரெயினு. இப்ப நீங்க என்ன நினைப்பீங்க? இளைய தளபதி நேரா அந்த டிரெயின் மேல குதிப்பாருன்னு தானே? அங்க தான் ஒரு டிவிஸ்டு. நம்ம தலைவர் அந்த நாலாவது மாடியிலருந்து பாலத்துல குதிச்சு கைப்புடி சுவரைப் புடிச்சு தட்டுத்தடுமாறி டிராக்ல ஏறி ஓடற டிரெயின்ல ரன்னிங்க்ல ஏறுவாரு. இப்படி ஏகப்பட்ட டிவிஸ்டோ டிவிஸ்ட் இருக்க படம் இது.
- செண்டிமெண்ட். பத்து வயசு பையன் வில்லனோட காலைப் பிடிச்சு விடறது, கண் தெரியாத இளம்பெண்ணின் சகோதரனை வில்லன் கொல்வது, மகன் வந்து காப்பாற்றுவான் என்று தந்தை சபதம் செய்வது என்று தமிழ்திரைப்படங்களில் இதுவரை பார்த்திராத செண்டிமெண்ட் காட்சிகள் நிறைந்த படம்.
- மெசேஜ். படத்துல சின்ன பசங்களுக்கு நிறைய புத்திமதி சொல்வாரு இளைய தளபதி. உதாரணமா பற்களை பலமா வச்சுக்கறதுக்கான அவசியத்தை சூசகமா சொல்லியிருக்காரு. ஆக்ஸிலரேட்டர் கட்டானாலும் வாயில ஒயரை கடிச்சிக்கிட்டு ரேஸ் ஜெயிக்கறாரு நம்ம தலைவரு. பற்கள் மட்டுமில்லாம நம்ம மனசும் பலமா இருந்தா எந்த மொக்க நாயும் ரேஸ்ல ஜெயிக்கலாம்ன்றது தான் மெசெஜு. இதுமாதிரி படம் முழுக்க மெசெஜ் தான்
- இளைய தளபதியின் கெட்டப்புகள். குருவி விஜய் 'மாஸ்க் ஆப் சாரோ' ஆண்டனியோ பாண்டராஸே காலில் விழும் அளவுக்கு முகமூடி அணிந்து வரும் காட்சியில் அது விஜய் தானா என்று யாராலுமே கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியவில்லை. மச்சம், மீசை என்று மாறுவேடத்திற்கு மெனக்கெட்டிருந்த தமிழ் சினிமாவிற்கு நாலுநாள் தாடியே போதும் என்று 'அழகிய தமிழ் மகனில்' நிருபித்த இளைய தளபதி குருவியில் அதுகூட தேவையில்லை என்று அடுத்த கட்டத்திற்கு கொண்டு சென்றுள்ளார். தசாவதாரத்தில் பத்து கெட்டப் போடும் கமல்ஹாசன் விஜயிடம் கற்றுக்கொள்ள நிறைய உள்ளது.

- நேட்டிவிட்டி. மலேசியாவில் இருக்கும் திரிசா 'லா' போட்டுத்தான் பேசுவார். ஆந்திரா கடப்பாவிலிருக்கும் வில்லன் ஆஷிஷ் வித்தியார்த்தி 'லு' போட்டு தெலுங்கில் தான் பேசுவார் (இவர் எப்போ தான் தமிழ் பேசி நடிப்பாரோ). அதே போல் வில்லனின் அடியாட்களும் தெலுங்கில் தான் பேசுவார்கள். இவ்வாறு யதார்த்தமாக நேட்டிவிட்டியுடன் எடுக்கப்பட்ட திரைப்படம் குருவி.
- ரவுடிகள் ஒழிப்பு. தமிழ்நாட்டுலயும் ஆந்திராவுலயும் மட்டுமில்லாம மலேசியாவுக்கு போய் அங்கேயும் தனியாளா ரவுடிகளை அடிச்சு துவம்சம் பண்ண குருவியை விட்டா யார் இருக்கா?
- இந்த படத்தைப் பார்த்தால் உங்களுக்கு கோபம், வெறுப்பு, ரென்சன் எல்லாமே போயிடும். உங்களுக்கு ஒரு சென்ஸும் இருக்காது. ஏன்னா இது ஒரு மிகச்சிறந்த சென்ஸ்லெஸ் திரைப்படம்.
- தன்னம்பிக்கை ஊட்டும் திரைப்படம். "குருவி மாதிரி ஒருத்தனே இந்த உலகத்துல இருக்கான். நமக்கென்ன"ன்னு ஓவ்வொருத்தருக்கும் தன்னம்பிக்கையை டன் கணக்கில் ஏற்றிவிடும் வெற்றித்திரைப்படம் குருவி.
- தொழில்நுட்பம்/ மருத்துவம் கற்பிக்கும் திரைப்படம். வெப் காமிராவே விஜயைப் பார்த்து கன்பீஸ் ஆவதும், இண்டர்நெட்டு ஈமெயில் மூலமாக விஜய் வில்லன்களை போலீஸிடம் மாட்டிவிடுவதும், வெப்காமிரா டிராலியில் சுத்துவதும் பாமரர்க்கும் நவீன தொழில்நுட்பங்களைக் கற்றுத்தரும் அ-புனைவு திரைப்படம். ஒரு ஒயரை அசைத்தால் கோமாவிற்கு போவதும் அதே ஒயரை அசைத்தால் கோமாவிலிருந்து மீண்டு வருவதும் மருத்துவ அதிசயங்கள்.
- கட்டமைக்கப்பட்ட பாரம்பரியங்களை உடைத்தெறியும் புரட்சித் திரைப்படம். மொத்த திரைப்படத்தையும் பார்த்தாலே உங்களுக்குத் தானாக புரியும்.
- இரண்டு பேரரசு, இரண்டு பி.வாசு, இரண்டு ஸ்ரீகாந்த் தேவா, இரண்டு விஜய் இணைந்து படமெடுத்தால் எவ்வளவு சிறப்பாக வருமோ அதை விடவும் சிறப்பாக எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ள திரைப்படம் இது.
- காமெடி, டிராஜடி, ரொமான்ஸ், டிராமா, ஆக்ஷன் என்று எந்த வகையிலும் பிரிக்க முடியாத திரைப்படம் இது. பார்ப்பவர்கள் இத்திரைப்படத்தை அவரவர்க்கு ஏற்றவாறு கொள்ளலாம். அப்படி அனைத்தும் கலந்த கலவை இத்திரைக்காவியம்.
- இந்த படத்தை பார்த்துவிட்டால் வேறு எந்த படமாக இருந்தாலும் பிடித்துவிடும்.
- எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலாக இத்திரைப்படம் உங்கள் பொறுமையையும் சகிப்புத்தன்மையையும் கூட்ட மிகச் சிறந்த மருந்து. இந்த படத்தை பார்த்துட்டீங்கன்னா அப்புறம் வாழ்க்கையில எதுவுமே கொடுமையா தெரியாது.
இந்த திரைக்காவியத்தைப் பார்க்க இதைவிட காரணம் வேண்டுமா என்ன? கண்டிப்பா பாருங்க மக்களே. குருவி 'நாமம்' வாழ்க!!

In the TV serial, some dialgoue came like "Palaar palaarnu naalu arai aranchuduvaen"....

Wayanad Trip
I hope this blog helps whoever is planning to visit Wayanad, Kerala. We had gone for 2 days trip over there.
Places to see in and around Wayanad :
Things you might be interested while planning to visit Wayanad are Stay, Plan to visit, Proper timings.
From Bangalore it will take around 5-6 hours by road to reach Wayanad. The best time to visit Wayanad is September/October. I had visited this place during september 2007 and February 2008. You can make out difference between these two quarters. During Feb, its kinda dry and no rainfall.
Chembra Peak:
Early Morning would be the right time to visit chembra peak (i.e around 16 Kms from Kalpetta, centre of Wayanad). At the top of the peak you can feel the clouds flowing around you. Also there is a lake at the peak, which can be seen in the shape of 'Artin'....
Soochi Paara Falls:
Again soochi para falls is around 20 Kms from Kapetta (at a junction you have to take left while going to Chembra Peak). On the way to Soochi paara falls there are tea plantations where you can freak out. Finish your lunch and then go to Soochi Para Falls. Dont plan anything after visit to Soochi para falls as you will be tired to visit anymore for the day. Just return to hotel/cottage and relax.
Khurvadeep islands:
This place is around 40 Kms from Kalpetta in other direction. This is kind of island surrounded by river. Again this place is good for during the september and if you go during Feb - June it will be dry and not much water to swim across. This place would take total of 3-4 hours to see.
Pulkot Lake:
Evening or Morning would be the right time to see the Pulkot lake where we have boating, lane around the lake for walk. This is situate around 10 Kms from Kalpetta.
Edakkal Caves:
Edakkal Caves is on the way back to Sulthan Bathery (towards Bangalore), need to take a turn in between for Edakkal Caves. From down, we can go in a jeep (10 mins) to climb up the hill and there on we can enter the caves, see the carvings on the rocks of ancient civilization. Above the Edakkal caves there is a hill from which we can see the 3 states.
Meenmutti Falls:
Didnt get a change to see this place.

Dont know what to write....
I was wondering what to write in this blog. I wanted to write something in the blog thats why I have created the blog. Whenever something strikes on mind, I remember the same and thinking of putting the same over blog. But when I start to write the same, I feel like thats not interesting or the content is too small to write as a blog. I am not a good poet to write poems. Sometimes I think of writing some travelogue so that its useful for others when they start planning. Soon I will publish about the Wayanad trip which we had gone recently. Hope this blog publishes properly prior changing my mind not to publish this crap.

Inter state trip [Mysore, Wayanad, Trissur, Cochin, Kanyakumari, Tuticorin]
Date : 30-Sep-2006.
On saturday evening at around 7.30 pm, we started from here to Ernakulam. This is the last bus service from KSRTC to Ernakulam. As usual, because of the hectic Bangalore traffic, the bus somehow managed to come out of Bangalore at 8.45pm. There are two different routes to Ernakulam, one through Mysore and other through Comibatore. Our bus is through Mysore. Our plan is to straight a way to reach Ernakulam. But on the way, our Manager's native is there and since he invited us we changed our plan to get down in between. Once it crossed Mysore, we started sleeping and after sometime we heard some buzzing sounds. It was nothing from the Huge tall trees on both the sides of the road. Yeah, you are right we were in Wayanad forest area. Then followed by Hairpin bends and we reached Kozhikode in the morning around 5 am. Then we get down at Kunnankulam in the morning 7am[01-Oct-2006].
We had our breakfast and then lunch at our Manager's place. Our plan of visiting Guruvayoor which is 8kms from there gone for a toss, since it started raining. In Kerala, always choose the SuperFast bus which is really great. We started to our actual target Ernakulam at 5.30pm [at which there is a bus to Ernakulam(Cochin)]. It reached around 8.30pm and then we started to Mattanchery at Cochin Port area, where the relation's house was there.
Next day[02-Oct-2006] Gandhi Jayanthi day, we started at around 12.30 pm to Trivandrum. We came to Railway station to check the availability of any trains, but there is no train. So dont go to station if in the afternoon. Then we proceeded towards the KSRTC Bus stand. We were waiting for SuperFast. It came at 2.45pm and started at 3pm. Its a nice journey since it is along the sea shore...and then to Kollam....and finally we reached Trivandrum...our plan is to go to Kanyakumari...then at 8pm had dinner at trivandrum..and then to Nagercoil we started....We are into another state now...Tamilnadu...we reached kanyakumari after catching a bus from nagercoil...finally at 11.30pm. Logged into a Tri-Sea Hotel. That day itself we went
to sea-shore.
Then came back since we need to see the sunrise the next day morning.
Sun came but along with the cloud, but it was a nice experience. Then at around 9.00am we started for the Vivekananda Rock through Boat. Then started
from there at 11.00 am to Nagercoil again and then to Trinelveli
and then to Tutiocorin, my hometown. That day evening we went to Beaches around tuticorin. Then the next day started back to Bangalore in KPN travels, a bad experience in travel.

Hoggenakkal Trip

Trip from Blr-Hoggenakkal We had booked a Qualis for a group of 7 members. It costs Rs6/- per km in Bangalore. We started in the early morning(7 am) from bangalore. Ofcourse, its kinda night only for me. Initially our plan was to go via Hosur, Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri. Once we entered our Tamilnadu Border, we need to pay the state tax since the vehicle didnt have permit. So better get a vehicle with tamilnadu permit too. As no exception, here also bribe for getting the permit quickly. It cost around 200 +(200). Then we had breakfast at Hotel Saravana Bhavan near the bus-stand.
There when we enquired about the route, we came to know that there is another route via Royakottai. The road is not that good but good enough for a qualis to go.
Here you can have the snapshot of the road. We have reached there around 11 am. The boat drivers immediately after checking the Karnataka Registration approached us, once we got down. They started speaking in Kannada. We have enquired about the boat riding (Parisal) cost. They have told if its for a round and come back, it costs 400 per boat. If its for a full day( they stay along with us whereever we go), it cost 750. They drop us at some places and we can play in water over there. Now you might be thinking about the lunch. Nothing to worry, there are people who cooks over there veg and non-veg(only fish) as soon as we order. They will get the food wherever we go.
After enquiring outside in the shops nearby (luckily I know tamil in the whole group), we came to know that they charges 300 per boat on regular days and on sundays 500. Since we were seven people, 2 boats are required. Finally after negotiation it came around 1200 per 2 boats. Oh, we were ready for our ride. Along with driver, we started 4 per boat. One more important thing, we should go only during the season. This is the right time to go over there. If too much of rain, then boat ride is not allowed and also it no water is there, boat cant go. Plan accordingly.
In between they stopped at 5 falls. There we took some photos over there. Then we proceeded through the place where "Chinna Chinna Aasai" song was shot. There are some kids over there, who jumps from the hill top into the water for a money of Rs.5 as gift for them. We captured that too in our camera. Then we went to another place where we ordered for food. Full meals -20 and mini-meals 15. Each fish costs around 10 but its really damn good. They make both fish curry and sambar, rasam. Everything is worth for the money. We were playing in the water for around 1 hour and then we had lunch. Travel between different places is via boat. Boat shops are available. People are carrying cool drinks, chips etc. in the parisal itself. Finally we went to the main falls. It is really awesome. Since danger lies within the beauty (everyone knows), be careful.
After that, its all over we were on our way back to the shore. We had a nice time. In between, the driver does a swirling effect for the whole boat. Then he showed where all people got drowned. While coming back to Bangalore, we came through Anjetti, Thenkanikottai that is little short and road is good. for initial 5 kms, not that great. Afterwards, its via hills. We had snacks at hosur in the evening around 7pm. Then we entered our Bangalore again at 7.30pm.
It was really for a one-day trip from Bangalore.
Next Jog Falls- Kemmengundi trip is postponed to October first week. Next travellogue will be about Wayanad Trip which is being planned.
